Woke up, built a fire. Met by Dee Dee’s husband Tom, who drove us in his truck to go to see the Texas Longhorn called ‘the Duke’ and his 6 foot horns and his friends big bull balls. After this, went back to camp and toasted our bagels. We packed up, and went to the gift shop and then got to play on the giant inflatable bouncy pillow.
We got given a free ‘Eat More Chikin’ Cow and a voucher for a free chicken sandwich so we then went to the nearest Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House with its small red door to try one...the chain is owned by Mr Truett Cathy who also owns the Rock Ranch. The chicken sandwiches were GOOD! And the service lovely, we got given a menu to take home. We also tried the Hot Brown which was recommended to us by Dee Dee...it was good, chicken covered in white sauce topped with cheese, bacon and toast.
After this we set off for Nashville. We arrived around 4 and went to look around. There was a Metallica gig in the venue by the visitor centre, so Beverley was happy to have her metal music fix as their music was playing everywhere! We headed down Broadway and 2nd Avenue. Lots of shops selling cowboy boots etc and lots of nice looking bars. Walked down the music walk of fame. Nashville seemed like a small but cool place.
Quote of the day: Rowena ‘Kishan is the female version of Helen’ ...What Ro meant to say is Kishan is the male version of Helen.
Joke of day: Jamie’s invention – When does a vegetarian become anorexic? When they lose their apple-tite.
Denny’s for dinner, steak, chicken, burgers and salads. Then on to Memphis to stay on Elvis Presley Boulevard. The hotel has a guitar shaped pool and free breakfast and is decorated with Elvis pictures and memorabilia. A block from Graceland although we didn’t realize this when we checked it.
It has been a long day zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
